Glamorous Photoshoot at Coast

Local property development Coast Papamoa Beach formed the backdrop for a summer fashion spread for one of New Zealand’s biggest lifestyle magazines this month.

CLEO Magazine chose the Bay’s newest beachside community as the location for their ‘summer love’ themed fashion shoot for their January issue, on sale now.

Coast Papamoa Beach director Steve Short says that the opportunity to use Coast for CLEO’s summer shoot was a coup for the region as well as the local development.

“It’s great for local tourism to have the region profiled in national magazines such as CLEO, and for Coast it showcases the idyllic coastal lifestyle that people desire – whether it be a permanent residence or holiday home.”

The magazine, read by 149,000 New Zealanders every month, typically travels to exotic international locations for its fashion shoots.

CLEO’s fashion editor, Gemma Young says what attracted them to the development was its proximity to the beach, its beautifully architecturally-designed spaces, and its landscaped environment including a beach-themed park.

“The Bay of Plenty is New Zealand’s most iconic summer holiday destination and the ideal location for our January issue. Coast, inspired by its natural surroundings and stylish architecture, is the perfect fit for our fashion-forward magazine and readers.”

Coast Papamoa Beach was acknowledged for its stunning architecture when it won the People’s Choice award at the 2010 NZ Wood Timber Design Awards, and the 2010 Waikato/Bay of Plenty Commercial Architecture award for its Sales Pavilion.
